James "Jimmy" Amulya Cordero Born on January 30th, 1992 in St. Regis, New York Currently residing in West Chester Pennsylvania Parents Balin (deceased) and Adrienne Cordero (née Boucher) One younger sister. Eighteen years of age Dating jadella [5-8-10] & Straight Senior at West Chester East, works weeknights (and some weekends) at Gilmore's Restaurant.
- Is of Native American and French Canadian decent. His father Balin was of Native American - part of the Mohawk tribal lineage. As opposed to his mother, Adrienne, who hails from St. Zotique, Quebec, Canada... which is in Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region, located about 45 minutes west of Montreal.
- Spent the first fifteen years of his life living on the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation which consists of the towns Hogansburg and St. Regis. It's most known by its Mohawk name Akwesasne.
- Goes by his childhood name of Jimmy, it has stuck up until this point and probably will stick for the rest of his life.
- Moved to Pennsylvania when he was fifteen with his mother and sister after his father passed away from cancer. After his father died Jimmy became extremely close to his mother Adrienne. He cites his mother as his hero, since he almost had a complete breakdown over losing his father so young. Adrienne remained strong for her son and her daughter and because of this, Jimmy considers his mother to be his guardian angel and his best friend. It took him until recently to understand it was his father's time to go and that it was his time to return ashes to ashes, dust to dust. To become at peace and one once again with Mother Earth from once came.
- Has lived in West Chester for the past two years and generally enjoys life in the new area. Having always lived on reservation, it seemed different living in a place like West Chester. It really gave Jimmy a chance to explore and enjoy life as he continued growing up. To experience new things.
- He's a naturally curious young man. Loves learning new things. Incredibly athletic. You can usually find him reading or tossing a football around if the mood strikes him. During the warmer months especially, Jimmy tends to find himself outdoors a lot, and usually totes around a good book and his ipod. He loves nature, and will usually sit under a tree and just enjoy the simple sounds of birds chirping or wind rustling through trees as he enjoys his book. He finds himself completely at peace when he's surrounded by nature, having spent the majority of his childhood outdoors with his father. He doesn't mind the cold though, either. He's a big fan of snow forts (yes, even now) as well as snowshoeing and snowboarding. He also enjoys ice skating.
- While he's not big on hunting personally, he loves fishing. During the summer or ice fishing alike. He does it just for sport, though. He never kills or keeps anything he catches while fishing. He believes that nature is meant to be preserved and can't bring himself to really kill anything. He doesn't even kill spiders, he just sets them free outdoors. His mindset is to treat not just the environment but those around him with respect. To live a gentle, kind life and respect the simplistic beauty of simply being alive.
- He's very spiritual. He finds his peace and serenity not with God or any other higher single deity. He finds his spirituality in nature. From raging storms to peaceful silence in nothing interrupted by only the caw of a crow in the distance. He is very much in touch with his ancestry, finding inner pride and spirituality in his native roots. His father instilled the values of their fathers before them into him from an early age. He believes in the spirits of his ancestors walking the Earth to this day in reincarnated forms. From bird to wolf to doe and crow, how their lives were lived reflecting their incarnated spirit. Most find the way Jimmy things and feels about life and the world around him as 'weird', however he just embraces his culture and never falters in his pride.
- His taste in music is incredibly eclectic. He'll listen to anything from classic rock and hair metal to folk tunes and tribal music. One of his favorite songs is "Gentle Thunder" by December Wind, a group of Mohawk men who call his reservation of Akwesasne home. As his father would call them, their true brothers. His love for December Wind started when he was fourteen when he met Atsiaktonkie, the vocalist/guitarist of the group, with his father Balin. Since then the group's music has been a staple in his daily life.
- In general, Jimmy is a friendly young man. He stands beside and respects his fellow brother. He respects and willfully protects his fellow sister. He lives, he breathes and he exists in a very serene mannerism. Usually soft spoken yet intelligent, he takes his schooling very seriously, understanding and knowing that knowledge truly is power. He's not anti-social at all, he'll literally sit down and engage in conversation with anyone. He doesn't believe in labeling people, therefore he just sees the world around him not in shades of color but in shades of brotherhood. Unless someone crosses him or treats him with disrespect, he couldn't find it in his heart or his soul to treat another living being poorly.
- He has one dog that he's had since he was young. Her name is Akuti, which is traditional Mohawk for Princess.
West Chester University - Is a Freshman - Majors in Geoscience (Concentration: Earth Sciences)
School Related Notes: - Is a senior - Plays Ice Hockey for the Golden Rams. - Is part of the WCU Theater Group.
